Fall Application Workshop Series (for seniors applying to law school in fall 2018 only)

  • Wed., Sept. 5 - Law School Application Orientation - An overview of the steps in the application process
  • Thu., Sept. 6 - Law School Letters of Recommendation - Find out how to maximize these important, but often overlooked, pages in your application.
  • Mon., Sept. 10 - Statements, Essays, & Resumes...Oh My! - Beyond your numbers, your personal statement and other writings will be the most important part of your application. Learn how to craft these documents for maximum impact.
  • Tue., Sept. 11 - Selecting Schools For Application - What factors are important to consider in putting together a list of schools? Come find out in the workshop.


Mon., Sept. 17 - Law Admissions Panel feat. Duke, Cornell, UChicago, and Stanford Law
The Deans of Admissions for each of these top schools will be on hand to discuss the various aspects of the application process, and to talk about unique features of their schools. Time for Q&A will follow the event. Please note this event is being hosted off campus by Alston & Bird. Students will need to make their own transportation arrangements.

Thu., Oct. 11 - Georgetown Law Group Interviews (only for those currently applying to Georgetown)
Students applying to Georgetown during the Fall 2018 application cycle can sign up to participate in this group interview with the Dean of Admissions at Georgetown. A limited number of seats are available for this event. Those interested should sign up by emailing the Pre-Law Advisor at rodia.vance@emory.edu. Additional information regarding preparation will be sent in advance to those who register.


Tue., Oct. 16 - TestMasters LSAT Workshop
Trying to figure out how to crack the code on the LSAT? Find out some key strategies for success in this session sponsored by TestMasters.

Thu., Oct. 18 – Law Admissions Networking Night
Enjoy an evening of “meeting and greeting” with admissions reps from law schools across the country. Get your questions answered by the decision-makers!

Fri., Oct. 19 - Alumni in Law Meet 'n' Greet
Attorney members of the Emory College Alumni Board will be on hand to informally talk with students who are interested in pursuing careers in law. While the event is open to all pre-law students, this session will be particularly helpful to first-year and sophomore students who are in the beginning of their college career and can use the advice to help chart their own course of preparing for law school. The event will take place from 1 - 2:15 p.m., and there is a limit on the numbers of available slots due to space constraints. Interested students should email the Pre-Law Advisor to be placed on the list of attendees.


Fri., Oct. 19 – LSAC Law School Forum
Sponsored by the Law School Admission Council, this annual event brings nearly 200 law schools to Atlanta for a one-of-a-kind law school fair and workshop event. Register to attend on the LSAC website in advance to avoid long lines on the day of the event.


Sat., Oct. 27 - Mock LSAT sponsored by TestMasters
Planning to take the November LSAT? Or just want to do a practice test to see what the exam is like? TestMasters Test Prep will be conducting a mock LSAT to give you a taste of the real thing!


Mon., Oct. 29 – Grad School Fair
Meet with admissions reps from graduate and professional schools across the country. Get advice on becoming competitive for programs in your discipline!


Thu., Nov. 1 - How to Get Into the Law School YOU Want!
Designed specifically for first-year and sophomore pre-laws, this workshop will cover how to optimize your college experience to create a compelling application package by the time you graduate. Discussion will include selecting classes and experiences with intention and deciding what pathway in law is right for you.


Mon., Nov. 5 – Emory Night @ Emory Law
Join the team at Emory Law to learn more about life as a “Double Eagle.” Dinner will be served.


Tue., Nov. 6 – Harvard Law School Info Session
Interested in Harvard Law's JD program? The Dean of Admissions will be on hand to present an information and answer questions about Harvard's regualr admissions program and their new Junior Deferral Program (JDP).


Thu., Nov. 8 – Law Admissions Panel feat. USC, Berkeley, N’western, NYU, and University of Texas
Admissions representatives from these top law schools will be on hand to discuss their respective programs and answer questions about the admissions process at large.
